Western Derby

We have N. Chow (2kyu), S. Matsushiro (3kyu), and J. Altmann (5kyu) successfully grading from Murdoch.


Australian University Games

Date : Wednesday, 28 September 2011
Venue : Marymount College, Gold Coast, Queensland

Congratulations to M. Fenn who brought back a Bronze medal (third place) in Women's Dan Individuals. She also received a Half-Blue award from Murdoch University, and B. Yehuda received a Club Service Award.


Australian Squad Selection

Congratulations to Anthony Tilbury who was selected as a member of the national team to represent Australia in the 15th World Kendo Championships to be held in Italy next year in May 2012. The championships currently have 50 countries and 900 individuals participating. Best of luck to Anthony!


Western Taikai

The grading resulted in every kyu candidate passing, four from Murdoch. Congratulations to O. O'Brien (1kyu), N. Chow (3kyu), A. Lim (3kyu), and S. Matsushiro (5kyu).

Congratulations also to Brian Brestovac-sensei (6dan) from Goshinkai for receiving the Renshi award, along with Yuji Sano-sensei and Takashi Itakura-sensei.

WA Kendo Championships - Individuals

The state championships was held this morning. Due to time constraints, only Kyu, Women's, and Open Individual events were held. Five from Murdoch placed so far!

Murdoch Orientation Week Festival Day

The club performed several Kendo demonstrations during Festival Day to promote this semester's beginners course, which will commence on Wednesday 2 March 2011.


Western Derby

Date : Sunday, 30 January 2011
Venue : Curtin University Stadium, Bentley

The Western Derby's 5-on-5 competition resulted in the victory of Goshinkai Dragons, followed by Goshinkai Tigers. Congratulations! At least someone remembered to bring the trophy this time.


2011 Training Commenced

Murdoch training has started! The rec centre is currently under renovation so we will be moving to the squash courts for a few weeks. This is going to be a busy semester, make sure you constantly update yourself with news and scheduled events.
