Held annualy by Anthony (Murdoch), Tachi Kiri is a test of endurance. Each club volunteers one tachi kiri player who will continuously fight kakari players for two hours, in 5-minute matches, without any rest allowed. Each court will have a shinpan (often rotating with other shinpan or players) to decide scores as per normal shiai rules.
At the end of the competition, scores are tallied up, and one winner is chosen amongst the tachi kiri players, and one amongst the kakari players. They will each receive a trophy they can take home for a year, until the next Tachi Kiri Competition.
